Choose a Challenge. Create a benchmark.
Challenges in Pulses App are structured hybrid workouts with predefined stations, reps, loads or distances.
Run them as shorter fitness tests or longer race simulations. Because the format stays the same, athletes can repeat the Challenge later and compare their results.

STANDARDISED
Same stations. Same format. Comparable results.
FLEXIBLE
Use Challenges for fitness benchmarks, group competitions or race simulations.
REPEATABLE
Run the same Challenge again and track personal bests and progression.
Run a simulation with your group
Track several athletes at once, follow their progress through each station and record the result as the session happens.
LIVE VIEW
Follow each athlete’s progress live, with real-time heart rate when HR monitors are used.
DIFFERENT PACES, ONE VIEW
Follow athletes as they move through the same simulation at different speeds.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
Each athlete gets their own result from the same group session.

Repeat the simulation. See what improved.
Run the same Challenge again later and compare the new result with the previous attempt.
In this example, the athlete improved their Dumbbell Engine time from 14:24 to 13:59 — a 25-second personal best.

TRACK REAL PROGRESS
Repeat the same simulation and compare each new result with the previous attempt.
SEE WHERE TIME CHANGED
Station-by-station differences show where time was gained and lost.
FOCUS THE NEXT TRAINING
Use the comparison to see which stations need more work.

From fitness benchmark to race simulation
Pulses App Challenges can be used throughout hybrid training — from shorter repeatable fitness tests to longer race simulations.
For athletes preparing for fitness races such as HYROX, repeating structured simulations can help practise pacing, identify weaker stations and measure progress throughout the training period.
FITNESS BENCHMARK
Use a shorter Challenge as a repeatable hybrid fitness test. Establish a baseline, repeat it later and compare personal bests and station performance.
A benchmark can combine conditioning, muscular endurance and functional strength under fatigue, giving coaches a broader view of performance than a simple cardio test.
RACE SIMULATION
Use a longer Challenge to rehearse the demands of fitness racing. Run it with a group, practise pacing across multiple stations and compare individual results.
Repeat the same simulation during the training period to identify weaker stations, track progress and see how race readiness develops over time.
